The Group is the one of the largest players in the plantation industry in Sri Lanka , managing and having effective control over three large, publicly listed companies, Kegalle Plantations PLC, Namunukula Plantations PLC and Maskeliya Plantations PLC, as well as other smaller subsidiaries. The sector employs over 24,000 persons covering tea rubber and coconut crops to an extent of 13,000 hectares, producing approximately 13 million kg of tea, 6 million kg of rubber and over 1 million kg of coconut annually. Some of Sri Lanka 's finest “high grown” and bio teas are produced by the plantations.
