Cinnamon :
Sri Lanka is the major producer of Ceylon Cinnamon (Cinnamomum Zeylanicum). Cinnamon is grown in Galle & Matara districts. Since most of our estates are located in areas where soil is ideal for the cultivation of Cinnamon, the Company has expanded the extent under cinnamon and now possess over 90 Ha. in production and a further 42 Ha. under immature stage.

Cinnamon is considered as a plantation cash crop with less labour intensive. Generally two rounds of harvesting of shoots are undertaken per year. The process of peeling and conditioning of the Cinnamon bark is undertaken by the highly skilled workers. The Company produce ‘C' & ‘H' grade cinnamon quills and dispose locally, at a premium price.
